Joshua Christian, of Tewksbury, was arrested in the early morning of Friday, Aug. 25, after he crashed his pickup truck into a telephone pole near 417 North Street in Tewksbury, according to the Tewksbury Police Department.
Police responded to a report of a crash and found a broken telephone pole hanging over the northbound lane of North Street. Christian was inside the red pickup truck on the side of the road with its airbags deployed.
After taking Christian out of the truck and having him evaluated by the Tewksbury Fire Department, police gave Christian a field sobriety test.
After that and a breathalyzer test, Christian was charged with the following:
- Operating under the influence of liquor
- Negligent operation of motor vehicle
- Marked lanes violation
His arraignment was scheduled for Friday.
